Three Programs to Experience Local Work, Understand Workers’ Motivations, and Reflect on Your Future

'Connect Nerima Career Path' offers more than just job experiences—it provides opportunities to engage with the values and backgrounds behind local businesses, helping participants reflect on their own career paths and futures.

By learning about the types of jobs available in the community, the people who work them, and their motivations, attendees can begin to see 'working locally' as a realistic and appealing option.

On the day, new connections will be fostered through three steps: experience, dialogue, and interaction.

The event features the following three programs:

【Job Experience (Reservation Required)】Target Audience: Elementary to high school students and parents

Booths offering hands-on job experiences will be hosted by companies and organizations based in and around Nerima Ward. Participants can experience diverse fields—including firefighting and the Self-Defense Forces, woodworking, stonemasonry, kimono and costume design, radio broadcasting, drones, health and sports, and accounting—through interactive workshops.

By engaging directly with real-world jobs and professionals, attendees will discover the appeal and excitement of local industries, sparking ideas for their future careers.

※ Due to high demand, advance reservations for job experience sessions are now full.

【Local SME Talk Session】Target Audience: High school and university students, parents

Representatives from participating companies will share insights on topics such as 'Why do we do this business?' and 'How are we connected to the local community?'

Beyond job descriptions, this session will explore the values of work and the missions of local enterprises, broadening participants’ perspectives on their own futures and career choices.

【Local SMEs × Student Networking Session】Target Audience: High school and university students

A small-group dialogue event where students can speak directly with company owners, HR representatives, and frontline employees about job satisfaction, daily responsibilities, and career development.

Participants can turn insights from the job experiences and talk sessions into concrete visions for their own careers, building relationships that may lead to company visits or internships.

About the Organizer

The Tokyo Junior Chamber (Tokyo JC), a public interest incorporated association, was founded in 1949 (Showa 24) by young people united by the belief that 'rebuilding a new Japan is the work of youth,' at a time when the scars of war still deeply affected both cities and hearts.

Since then, the Tokyo Junior Chamber has pursued its mission of 'realizing a bright and prosperous society' through diverse initiatives. The organization is composed of members from diverse races, nationalities, genders, occupations, and religions, all joining freely based on personal conviction.

The Japan Junior Chamber's activities are grounded in three pillars: 'personal development,' 'service to society,' and 'friendship with the world.' Members engage in mutual enlightenment and exchange, cultivate public spirit, and actively address social challenges through collaboration with local communities.

Through extensive practical training, members gain experience across a wide range of fields. Even after graduating at age 40, many alumni continue to serve as community leaders and have made significant contributions in politics, business, and public service.
