Tokai Television Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Higashi-ku, Nagoya) will co-host the NAGOYA Innovation Lab (NIL) titled 'The Power of Listening Drives New Business' with Spready Inc. Jun Tomatsu, a producer who has worked on numerous hit programs for Tokai TV, including 'Gussan's House,' 'Chihara Junior no Hebereke,' and 'Tamura Atsushi no Sumaho Tabi,' will be a guest speaker. The event is a study session and networking event focusing on 'the power of listening,' which is essential for advancing new businesses. The NIL aims to explore how the 'listening' perspective, honed in the media field, can be applied to new business practices. Tomatsu, who has been involved in new business at Tokai TV, will share his real-world experiences, delving into why 'empathetic listening' is crucial over mere 'communication skills,' how program production and new business are similar, and what aspects are often overlooked when undertaking intrapreneurship. The event is recommended for those who feel their project resolution is not improving despite customer and internal hearings, those who want to learn 'communication skills' necessary for new business in a practical context, those who want to improve user understanding and problem discovery accuracy, those who want to learn project planning perspectives from cross-industry practices, those interested in intrapreneurship experiences and lessons learned, and those who want to advance new businesses while reviewing their own assumptions and approaches. The event will consist of Part 1: Innovation Study Session ('The Power of Listening Drives New Business - Practical Knowledge from the Media Field, Polished by Empathetic Listening, Planning, and Metacognition') and Part 2: Networking Event (optional, cash-on). The event is organized by Spready Inc., with cooperation from SQUEEZE Inc. It will be held on May 13, 2026 (Wednesday), from 16:00 to 20:00 at STATION Ai (Part 1: 3F Central Lounge / Part 2: 7F Node7). Participation is free, and the capacity is 40 people. If the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, participants will be selected by lottery and notified via email. Participation from individuals, competitors, and rival companies is declined. Participation in the networking event only is not permitted (it is a set with the study session).
