The Story of Nagoya Sakae Begins with Ghibli Works

Special screenings have been decided in collaboration with Studio Ghibli for the opening of "TOHO Cinemas Nagoya Sakae" (Location: 3-25-1 Nishiki, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture), which will open on Thursday, June 11.

The story of TOHO Cinemas Nagoya Sakae, which opens under the concept of "Stories always begin at the cinema," will begin with special screenings of Studio Ghibli works, made possible precisely because Aichi is home to Ghibli Park.

Grand Opening Special Screening ①: One-day-only screening of 6 Studio Ghibli works on Thursday, June 11

On Thursday, June 11, the opening day of TOHO Cinemas Nagoya Sakae, six of the ten screens will be taken over for a one-day-only screening of six Studio Ghibli works.

Well-known masterpieces will color the beginning of "The Story of TOHO Cinemas Nagoya Sakae," where no one has yet set foot. Please come and witness it with your own eyes.

Grand Opening Special Screening ②: Advance screening of "Kiki's Delivery Service" IMAX® version

The IMAX® screening of "Kiki's Delivery Service" (4K digital remaster), which garnered attention when screened in North America in March 2026, will be shown in advance from Thursday, June 11 to Thursday, June 18, prior to its nationwide release on Friday, June 19.

The innovative 4K laser projection system and 12-channel sound system of the latest IMAX® laser theater introduced at TOHO Cinemas Nagoya Sakae will further highlight Kiki's emotional expressions, the adorable movements of her black cat companion Jiji, the beautiful townscapes, and exhilarating flying action scenes, creating an immersive experience as if you have entered the world of the story, allowing you to experience a fresh感動 as if encountering the work for the first time.
