Recruitment Begins for the 'Aizu-Tajima Station SL Photo Event' Commemorating the First Arrival of the SL Taiju 'Hani' at Aizu-Wakamatsu Station

Tobu Top Tours Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Koji Momokida) is pleased to announce that it will begin accepting applications for the 'SL Photo Event' to be held at Aizu-Tajima Station on Saturday, June 27, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 5. This event coincides with the first arrival of the SL Taiju 'Hani' at Aizu-Wakamatsu Station, marking the first special operation of a steam locomotive on the former JNR Aizu Line in 52 years.

This initiative is being carried out as the finale of the large-scale tourism campaign 'Fukushima Destination Campaign (Fukushima DC)', taking advantage of this historic opportunity for a special train run. On the day, participants will be able to photograph the SL Taiju 'Hani' in a limited-access photo area within Aizu-Tajima Station, and will also receive participant-exclusive commemorative gifts and a voucher for the marche being held in the Aizu-Tajima Station square.

The company aims to revitalize the Aizu area by building a tourist loop route connecting Nikko and Aizu, and to further enhance the value of the wider area along the Tobu Railway line, including the Yagan Railway, Aizu Railway, and JR East, continuing to contribute to the development of local communities.
