Toon Kikaku Co., Ltd. endorses April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day for announcing dreams. This press release is a dream of Toon Kikaku Co., Ltd., organizer of the Chopinland Competition, and PWM Edition.
PWM Edition (Polish Music Publishers, represented by Daniel Cichy) and Toon Kikaku Co., Ltd. (represented by Shigetake Fukuda) have been co-hosting the "Chopinland Competition" since 2022. For its 5th edition in 2026, the competition will renew its division structure and establish a new "Etude Division" focusing on etudes by Polish composers. We will continue our challenge, hoping to further expand the circle of learning.

## What is the Chopinland Competition? – Featuring set pieces. New Etude Division established this year.
The name "Chopinland" signifies "Chopin's homeland (= Poland)." As the name suggests, the assigned pieces feature works by Polish composers. The selection of repertoire is supervised by world-renowned pianists Ms. Ewa Pobłocka and Mr. Wojciech Świtała. It is designed to foster a unique Polish pianism and a wider range of musical expression through works by diverse Polish composers, including Chopin, as well as Govik, Libicki, and Gonshinietz.
Furthermore, from the 2026 academic year, a new "Etude Division" will be established, focusing on etudes. In this division, etudes are regarded not just as a foundation for technical improvement, but as a means to "cultivate the ability to grasp music in a more three-dimensional way through musicality and rich expressiveness." This division aims to serve as a bridge for young pianists aspiring to enter music universities or challenge international competitions in the future.
## Special Course for Etude Division Qualifiers to be Held
The Etude Division also plans to hold special courses for qualifiers, as part of an effort to further cultivate musicality and expressive power and improve "musical ability." Our dream is for learners to deepen their understanding of music, broaden their expression, and grow through learning in this division, and for these connections to expand.
Masterclasses for award winners by Mr. Wojciech Świtała and Ms. Marie Komei are also highly popular every year. They are scheduled to be held again in 2026.
## Award Winners' Reception & Concert at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Japan
After the final round, with the cooperation of the Polish Cultural Institute, an Award Winners' Reception & Concert (award ceremony, concert, and celebratory reception) will be held at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Japan.
Holding the event in the special setting of the Embassy, with Polish spoken throughout the venue, Polish cuisine served, and a performance by world-renowned pianist Mr. Wojciech Świtała, offers a valuable opportunity to experience Polish culture and music while in Japan. This commemorative event is highly acclaimed every year.
