Tokyo Asset Solution Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Nobuaki Terashiki; hereinafter "the Company") is pleased to announce the launch of a new grid-scale battery storage project in Sekikawa Village, Niigata Prefecture. This project aims to contribute to the effective utilization of renewable energy and the stabilization of the power grid, with operations scheduled to commence in December 2026. Guided by the vision "From People to Cities, Society, and the Future," the Company has been promoting initiatives for a sustainable society while focusing on its core real estate business. Since joining "RE Action" in November 2023, the Company has set a goal to source 100% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2026. Furthermore, having entered the battery storage business in 2025, the Company has been working to solve social issues through power supply-demand balancing and advanced energy utilization. The business model involves connecting battery facilities to the power grid, charging during low-price periods, and discharging/selling electricity during high-price periods to generate revenue. Additionally, the Company will secure revenue opportunities by responding to power balancing needs in the supply-demand adjustment market. In Sekikawa Village, located within the Tohoku Electric Power service area, the Company is proceeding with the installation of battery facilities on village-owned land. Through collaboration with Looop Inc., which handles project development and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), the Company reached an agreement with Sekikawa Village to implement this project. This initiative is being conducted with the cooperation of Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company, Limited (SMFL), utilizing the "Mirai 2030®" SDGs lease to support organizations working toward SDGs. The planned beneficiary of the donation is the forest conservation organization "more trees." The Company remains committed to contributing to a sustainable energy society and solving social issues through its business activities, including the renewable energy sector.
