This exhibition presents installation works that reinterpret old festival lanterns, urushi return boards, and votive tablets from the Noto region as if they had gently washed ashore. It offers a new perspective on objects that have completed their roles over time, quietly evoking memories and landscapes.
The title 'Tōka (Sugarization)' symbolizes a process of transformation and circulation—like how sour and salty things gradually acquire a subtle sweetness. The exhibition captures the faint presence within things that are vanishing or on the verge of breaking, gently connecting memories across time, place, and people.
Described by the artist as 'a model of dreams for future creations,' this exhibition invites audiences to experience the delicate boundary between fragility and renewal woven by Maihi.

Exhibition Work I
Sour, salty
One day, gently sweet
Like water. Like water
A revolving carousel of memories
In childhood, drawing horses on factory parking lots, sheets, and doors throughout the house. Four years ago, began creating art by rubbing flour from the kitchen onto boards. For this exhibition, reinterpreting items that seem to have washed ashore from Noto. Old Kiriko festival lanterns, urushi return boards, and votive tablets. Even if torn or nearly broken, gently sweet. A model of dreams for future creation. —Maihi—
