TKP Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takaki Kono; hereinafter "TKP") has acquired the multi-purpose commercial building "Soleil" in Oita City, Oita Prefecture, previously owned by the National Federation of Workers' and Consumers' Co-operative Insurance (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Shuichi Uchikoshi; hereinafter "Kokumin Kyosai"), effective April 1, 2026, and has commenced operations as "TKP Soleil Oita."
The facility is equipped with conference rooms and banquet halls, and will be operated as a facility that responds to diverse needs, from business to social gatherings and events. Prior to its opening, an opening reception was held on March 31, 2026.
Background of Acquisition and Opening
TKP has been developing its space regeneration and distribution business nationwide, promoting the creation of new value through the repurposing of idle real estate. This acquisition is part of an initiative to further expand this business and realize regional revitalization through co-creation with local communities.
Oita City is the political and economic center of Oita Prefecture, and in addition to demand for meetings and training from companies and organizations, it serves as a gateway to tourist destinations such as Beppu and Yufuin, making it an area where both business and tourism demand can be expected. Against the backdrop of these regional characteristics, we have opened this facility to contribute to the creation of exchange opportunities and the formation of vibrancy in the region. Furthermore, by developing comprehensive services such as food and beverage and accommodation businesses, centered on the rental conference room and banquet business, we aim to enhance the value of the entire building.
Facility Features
This facility is a multi-purpose commercial building completed in 1998, with one basement floor and seven above-ground floors, boasting a total floor area of approximately 7,800㎡. It is equipped with 16 conference rooms, including a banquet hall that can accommodate up to approximately 300 people. Currently, multiple tenants, including Rengo Oita (Oita Federation of Labor Unions), are located in the building and it is continuously used as a regional activity base. TKP operates the conference rooms on the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th floors, and the banquet hall on the 7th floor, accommodating a wide range of uses including meetings, training, various events, parties, and regional events.
Future Developments
Going forward, through collaboration with "APA Hotel Oita Ekimae," which TKP operates, and the multi-purpose resort facility "SHONIN PARK" in Beppu City, we will strengthen efforts to attract corporate training and events from the Tokyo metropolitan area and other major cities, contributing to broader economic revitalization and an increase in the exchange population within the prefecture.
TKP will continue to build a sustainable business model that walks hand in hand with local communities, creating value rooted in the region.
