This little one, who suddenly appeared at Washin-mura one day, had a mysterious aura from the start. He was so friendly that it was hard to believe he was a stray, and even when the resident cats got angry at him, he never fought back. He simply endured their intimidation with a quiet, supple strength and kindness... or perhaps he was just ignoring them. Even after several days of this, Ace showed no signs of leaving. Feeling his determination that he truly intended to live here, we took him for a health checkup to welcome him in. The results were: estimated 8-9 years old, male, and an FIV carrier. When I heard the results, my heart tightened just imagining how hard his life must have been and how well he had done to survive. This is our first time with an FIV carrier, but at Washin-mura, 'abandonment' is not an option. If Ace, who had been wandering, chose to settle here, we will take responsibility for his life and make him happy until the end.
