【 Omochi SOLO EXHIBITION " NEW PINK" 】
On April 3rd, 2026 (Friday), tHE GALLERY HARAJUKU, operated by Yasumasa Yonehara, will host a solo exhibition "NEW PINK" by Omochi.
●STATEMENT
Pink is not just a cute color.
I have captured the pinks found in everyday life and memories through my own filter.
While layering it with kawaii culture,
I am depicting a world of pink that is both nostalgic and new.
After viewing the exhibition,
I hope that your everyday scenery will look just a little bit different.

●From Curator Yasumasa Yonehara
The "pink" that Omochi depicts is not merely a "cute color";
it is the pink that appears between the cuteness imagined by men and the cuteness that women live by.
To elaborate on that:
Male-oriented cuteness is cuteness as an object,
it is a cuteness placed externally as something to be protected or admired.
In contrast, female-oriented cuteness signifies cuteness as a state.
It is a cuteness that is chosen while wavering and worn to support oneself.
However, the figures Omochi depicts cannot be categorized into either of these.
While large eyes and round forms might appear to be symbolic cuteness at first glance, they simultaneously possess a definite presence.
This signifies "cute that is here" rather than "cute to be seen.".
The sense of "erokawaii" (sexily cute) that I have contemplated thus far arises when the body, memories, and time are incorporated into cuteness, and the same structure can be seen in Omochi's work.
The pink she depicts is not mere decoration...
