WHAT CAFE, an art gallery cafe operated by Warehouse TERRADA (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Kohei Terada, President and CEO), will host "WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.45: ON PAPER: Art and Print Market" from April 29 (Wed, Holiday) to May 6 (Wed), 2026.
This exhibition explores the breadth of expression through "paper," one of the most familiar materials for artists and a source of inspiration. We will showcase a wide range of works born from paper, including light-touch drawings, delicate prints, and three-dimensional works using Japanese washi paper. In this second iteration of the event at WHAT CAFE, we are collaborating with 10 domestic galleries dedicated to supporting young artists to exhibit and sell approximately 500 works by a total of 49 artists.
In addition to the artworks, the venue will feature self-produced goods and booklets by the artists, and some works can be purchased and taken home on the spot. This exhibition also incorporates market elements, making it an ideal opportunity for first-time art buyers. We invite both art connoisseurs and those who have had little exposure to art to enjoy the charm of the diverse expressions created through paper.
