Terra Charge Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toru Tokushige; hereinafter 'the Company'), which operates the EV charging service 'Terra Charge,' has launched 10 rapid EV chargers with 50kW output at 10 facilities of JA Kuma (Kuma Regional Agricultural Cooperative) (Headquarters: Nishiki-machi, Kumamoto; Representative Director: Katsunori Fukuda; hereinafter 'JA Kuma'), including the JA Kuma headquarters, Hitoyoshi branch, Yasuragi Kaikan Central, and A-Coop Nakakuma.
Background: To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the adoption of EVs and the expansion of charging infrastructure are accelerating. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has set a goal of installing 300,000 EV chargers by 2030, necessitating the development of convenient charging environments nationwide.
Currently, there are approximately 68,000 chargers installed in Japan. Our company is developing an infrastructure network that contributes to this. We enable flexible installation based on facility needs and user scenarios, working to create an environment where EVs can be charged anywhere, from home to destinations.
Our service offers zero initial, maintenance, and operational costs for facilities. By adopting Japanese hardware, we minimize the risk of parts shortages and provide a 24/7 call center along with payment and management functions. This reliability and thorough after-sales support ensure a safe environment for both operators and users.
Charger Details: We have installed a total of 10 rapid chargers at various bases in the Kuma region. Facilities include JA Kuma Headquarters, Hitoyoshi Branch, Asagiri Branch, A-Coop Nakakuma, Kamikuma Branch, Kamikuma Branch Yunomae Store, Yasuragi Kaikan Kamikuma, JA Kuma Nishiki Branch Sagara Store, Yasuragi Kaikan Central, and Yasuragi Kaikan Hitoyoshi. Specifications: 50kW rapid charger (1-port type), one per facility. Operation start date: February 12, 2026.
Intuitive App: Users can scan a QR code with their smartphone to use the service without an app (Guest Mode). We have renewed the 'Terra Charge' app for both iOS and Android to provide a more intuitive design and operability.
Future Outlook: We will continue to accelerate the development of EV charging infrastructure in daily life, such as commercial facilities, hotels, and tourist spots. We aim to expand our network nationwide by using this initiative with JA Kuma as a model case, striving for an infrastructure network without regional disparities.
