TechMagic Opens Cafeteria 'MAGIC CHEF' on the 5th Floor of the West Tower of the Telecom Center Building
- Accelerating the social implementation of cooking robots and challenging a new business format of cafeterias -

TechMagic Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo, President: Yuji Shiraki, hereinafter 'TechMagic'), which innovates 'delicious' experiences with robot technology, will open the cafeteria 'MAGIC CHEF' on the 5th floor of the West Tower of the Telecom Center Building in Koto-ku, Tokyo, at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 11, 2026.

This cafeteria is a new cafeteria model utilizing cooking robots, plating robots, and existing cooking equipment under the concept of 'Freshly Made', 'Customizable', and 'Shortened Serving Time'. By providing freshly made side dishes and an array of selectable menus, we aim to achieve a highly satisfying dining experience for users, while striving for continuous operation and improved profitability through operational efficiency.

For TechMagic, this initiative is an effort to further advance the social implementation of cooking robots and challenge cafeteria operations as a new use case, in addition to our previous implementation areas. By utilizing robots in cafeterias visited daily by many users, rather than just specialized stores and formats, we are building an operational model that can be implemented in a wider range of food scenes.

This cafeteria is a facility prepared by Tokyo Teleport Center Inc., which operates the Telecom Center Building, to deliver affordable and delicious meals to tenant companies and those working nearby.

The cafeteria menu is based on familiar standard dishes, offering freshly made side dishes using the stir-fry cooking robot 'I-Robo 2'. Moving forward, by combining the plating robot 'M-Robo' and existing cooking equipment, we aim to improve operational efficiency and serving speed.

Furthermore, in operating this cafeteria, Sendan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Yukihisa Toge), a group company of CSS Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'CSS') whose clients include major hotels across Japan, will handle the 'soft' aspects of the operation, realizing high-quality service by providing expertise based on years of operational experience. This initiative marks the first concrete case in the strategic partnership concluded between TechMagic and CSS in 2024.

Moreover, we will work on improving customizability to expand user choices. In the initial stage, by expanding options for combinations of main dishes, side dishes, and rice portions, we will realize a dining experience where users can choose according to their mood and preferences for the day. In the future, we are also considering the introduction of more flexible serving methods, such as selling by weight.

In addition, at this cafeteria, we plan to gradually implement robots in three stages: May-July 2026, August-October, and November onwards. Through gradual introduction, we aim to advance the robot utilization model in cafeterias while balancing the stabilization of operations and the enhancement of provided value.

TechMagic will continue to leverage robotics and AI to improve productivity and realize new customer experiences in various food-related scenes.

■ Stir-fry Cooking Robot 'I-Robo 2'
The cooking robot I-Robo, developed by TechMagic, can automate a series of actions such as stirring, heating, and washing the pot after cooking, automatically reproducing the recipes of skilled chefs for dishes like fried rice and vegetable stir-fry. During automatic cooking, heating temperature, heating time, pot rotation speed, and rotation direction can be flexibly and appropriately adjusted according to the menu. By introducing I-Robo, we aim to address the issue of labor shortages and promote labor-saving, creating an environment where humans can focus on tasks with higher added value.

'I-Robo 2' is an evolved model that is more compact than the conventional machine and has improved washability and touch panel operability. In addition, options such as safety guards and circulation hoods can be added upon request, allowing for flexible customization according to diversifying customer needs.
