TBS Podcast, operated by TBS Radio, will start distributing a new program "News no Butaiura" from Friday, April 3rd.

Behind the news, there are reporters' tears and hardships, cameramen's persistence and mobility, and editors' anguish and decisions. The behind-the-scenes of news broadcast on television are full of drama. This podcast program reveals the chaos of breaking news, the reality of war reporting, and the inside stories of scoop reporting "to the extent possible."

It will be delivered every Friday from the TBS Television News Department.

Cast ◇Kiyoharu Akiba: Assistant Director, TBS News Department Born in Tokyo. Joined TBS in 1995. After starting in the Social Affairs Department of the News Department and experiencing various news programs as a director, desk, and editor-in-chief, he was assigned to the Foreign News Department in 2009. At the London and Middle East bureaus, he covered a wide range of topics from conflicts to subcultures in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. After returning to Japan in 2022, he served as head of the Foreign News Department before assuming his current position. He started playing drums in high school, and his first hero was John Bonham.

◇Teruyuki Kashimoto: Head of Social Affairs Department, TBS News Department Born in Miyazaki Prefecture. Joined TBS in 1997. Served as a reporter, director, and editor-in-chief in the News Department. He visited the Middle East during the Iraq War (2003) and made three business trips to North Korea, having visited over 30 countries for reporting. In 2007, he produced the documentary program "Bride for One Month" about a woman battling breast cancer. He was stationed in the New York bureau for four years from 2010 and in the Washington bureau for four years from 2021, covering a wide range of American politics, economy, and society. At the Washington bureau, he distributed the podcast "Weekly US Presidential Election 2024." He is left-handed in both throwing and batting.
