TATEYAMA BREWING Co., Ltd., a craft gin manufacturer based in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture, announced the launch of its "LIQUID DESIGN PROJECT" to commemorate the 5th anniversary of its TATEYAMA GIN brand. This initiative seeks to reposition TATEYAMA GIN beyond traditional contract manufacturing, establishing it as a collaborative development partner that brings co-creation capabilities to the market. The inaugural collaboration under this project involves creative company 301 and "No.," a venue in Yoyogi Uehara that embodies 301's philosophy. Together, they have developed an original gin named "TATEYAMA GIN BLACK LABEL." A launch event for "TATEYAMA GIN BLACK LABEL" will take place on April 28, 2026, at "No." in Yoyogi Uehara. The event will feature cocktails made with the new gin and include a briefing session for food and beverage industry professionals, liquor retailers, and media, led by the project's distiller and creative director. The project offers bespoke craft gin development for restaurants, hotels, and brands, encompassing concept creation, branding, and cocktail development in partnership with 301. TATEYAMA GIN introduces the "BRAND TO BOTTLE" philosophy, which emphasizes designing taste from a core concept or theme and integrating naming, visual identity, and serving experiences. Satoshi Ota, TATEYAMA BREWING's production manager and a former architect, is responsible for "taste design," applying a structural approach to create reproducible recipes. Shogo Otani, CEO of 301 and a creative director, restaurant owner, and brand director, handles "experience design," ensuring brand value is conveyed through language, visuals, and service. This collaboration extends traditional OEM from mere recipe development to integrated customer experience development, fostering high-value co-development. "TATEYAMA GIN BLACK LABEL" is the first outcome, conceived from the concept of "black," symbolizing "rebellious attitude," "proof of quality," and "presentation of possibilities," rather than starting with botanicals.
