TANGO OPEN CENTER, located at 3188 Kawabe, Omiya-cho, Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, operated by the Tango Textile Industry Association, will change its operating schedule from April 25, 2026. Operating hours will be extended from 10:00-16:30 to 10:00-17:00. The facility will now be open on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, previously closed, with Tuesdays becoming the sole closing day. Permanent attractions include factory tours (weekdays only, not Tuesdays), a factory shop, workshops (Cup Chirimen, Walnut Button, Tassel making), and an operational loom exhibition. Golden Week events include: May 2 (Sat) 13:00 - Opening ceremony for EQV-PICNIC (3-seater electric tuk-tuk) dealership; May 3 (Sun) - Stage events (children's taiko, chirimen kouta dance, koto, saxophone, shakuhachi); May 4 (Mon) - Tatami workshop; May 5 (Tue) - Cardboard robot workshop; May 6 (Wed) - Saxophone and guitar performance. Kitchen cars will be present on May 2 and 3. Limited-time events include Kimono-dokoro Ikebe exhibition (April 25-26) and a giant cardboard art exhibition with craft kit sales (April 25-May 6). The center plans commemorative events for its 2nd anniversary on June 24. Free parking for 50 cars and 4 buses is available. Payment methods include cash, credit cards, e-money, transportation IC, and QR payment.
