Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. will host the "Great Gold Exhibition," a six-day sales exhibition featuring over 1,000 gold products gathered in one place, from April 8 (Wed) to April 13 (Mon), 2026.
■ Special Exhibition of the Life-Sized "Two-Way" Gold Batter and Pitcher Statues
Specially exhibited at the venue will be the life-sized gold statues of Shohei Ohtani of the MLB Los Angeles Dodgers, "Golden Batter Shohei Ohtani" and "Golden Pitcher Shohei Ohtani." This will be a rare opportunity to see both statues displayed together. These works were produced by SGC, a pioneer in gold products, over a period of about two years with official approval from Ohtani. The batter statue uses 1,550 gold leaves and stands about 1.9m tall, matching Ohtani's height (about 2.4m from the base to the tip of the bat). The pitcher statue uses 1,450 gold leaves and is about 1.7m tall. The reference prices are inspired by the "50-50" record (50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season) Ohtani established in 2024, as well as achieving 50+ home runs for two consecutive years. They are priced at 50 million yen (55 million yen including tax) each, or 100 million yen (110 million yen including tax) for the pair.
