We, MTPAK COFFEE JAPAN, are a brand launched in April 2025 as the Japanese general agent for MTPAK COFFEE, a manufacturer of coffee packaging.

Since its founding in 2015, MTPAK COFFEE, based in Shanghai, China, has been manufacturing takeout cups, coffee bean bags, and various other materials for coffee shops and roasters around the world.

In the approximately one year since we began operations in Japan, we have been gradually expanding our packaging offerings to coffee roasters through exhibitions such as SCAJ and direct proposals to roasters.

For a long time, the Japanese coffee industry has been limited by a lack of variety in packaging shapes, making it difficult to reflect the unique image and values of individual brands, often forcing roasters to use bags that look somewhat similar to others.

Overseas, packaging that is highly unique, reflects brand identity, and offers high visibility in both retail and store settings—utilizing diverse materials and proprietary processing technologies—has been in circulation for over a decade.

Japanese coffee roasters, who are sensitive to global coffee trends through interactions with overseas roasters and the import of green beans, have long faced the dilemma of wanting such packaging but being unable to manufacture it.

Now, we are acting as a gateway, making proposals to help Japanese coffee roasters realize packaging they previously could not create, with "lower costs," "smaller lots," and "more freedom."

### Making flat-bottom bags more accessible One of our strengths is the ability to manufacture flat-bottom bags starting from a minimum lot size. Furthermore, we have established a system that allows for the easy production of environmentally friendly materials, such as recyclable mono-material films and biodegradable compostable films, even in small quantities.

Despite the advantages of flat-bottom bags—such as excellent stability, transport efficiency, volume efficiency, and aesthetic appeal—they have not become widespread in Japan due to a lack of manufacturing factories and high minimum order requirements.

At MTPAK, we utilize the latest digital printing technology and small-lot lamination machinery to create completely original flat-bottom bags with a minimum order of just 2,000 units, regardless of size. This is one-tenth the quantity of conventional minimum orders.

Additionally, to make flat-bottom bags accessible for even smaller needs, we offer over 60 standard items in our online shop. We have established a system where bags equipped with valves and zippers, specialized for coffee beans, can be purchased in units of 100 and shipped immediately from our domestic warehouse.

In this way, we hope to easily provide highly functional coffee bags that are considerate of both bean quality and the environment to everyone involved in the coffee industry in Japan.

### An approach that offers peace of mind Until now, communication with overseas manufacturers has primarily been in English or Chinese. Furthermore, packaging that comes into direct contact with food is a highly specialized field, involving material characteristics and various processing variations. Importing such items is a high hurdle, including the preparation of necessary documents and procedures.

To proceed smoothly, it is essential to have not only specialized knowledge of each operation but also a relationship of trust based on a proven track record with the factory.
