System Five Begins Accepting Orders for DZOFilm Arcana Full-Frame 1.5X Hybrid Anamorphic Prime Lens

System Five Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and led by CEO Yukihiro Ogawa, commenced accepting orders on April 14, 2026, for the DZOFilm Arcana, a full-frame compatible 1.5X hybrid anamorphic prime lens from DZOFilm. Shipments are scheduled to begin around mid-May.

The DZOFilm Arcana features significant advancements in image quality and field of view, offering 2X-class waterfall bokeh and natural flare expression through its front cylindrical lens. Its innovative 1.5X hybrid anamorphic design delivers classic 2X waterfall bokeh and color-shifting horizontal streaking flares, balancing cinematic aesthetics with high image quality. The 1.5X squeeze ratio makes it versatile for both entry-level and professional cinema applications, providing more impactful visual expression than 1.33X lenses and supporting cinemascope aspect ratios like 2:1 and 2.39:1 even with Open Gate shooting due to high sensor utilization efficiency.

This new lens addresses the challenges of conventional 2X anamorphic lenses, which are often expensive, heavy, and costly to operate. The Arcana offers a breakthrough in both price and quality with a lightweight and compact design, reducing burdens on equipment, personnel, and budget. Its new price point and 3-lens set configuration are optimized for a wide range of users, including individual creators, production studios, and rental operators.

Key specifications include full-frame compatibility, a 1.5X compression ratio, minimum focusing distances of 0.48-0.78m, an 80mm front diameter, 14 aperture blades, a T2.1 open aperture, a weight of 694-709g, 12K compatibility, and a 270° focus rotation angle. The Arcana single lens (PL mount, 32/45/75mm) is priced at 196,680 JPY (tax included), and the 3-lens set (PL mount) is 518,650 JPY (tax included).
