Sunvillage Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, Representative Director: Takashi Mimura, hereinafter "the Company") is pleased to announce the completion and commencement of operation of a high-voltage grid-scale battery storage facility developed and constructed for Tokyu Power Supply Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Kazuhide Miyo, hereinafter "Tokyu Power Supply"). This storage facility, constructed as a 2MW/8MWh high-voltage storage facility in Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture, will begin commercial operation in April 2026. Tokyu Power Supply plans to operate it in the wholesale electricity market, supply-demand adjustment market, and capacity market. Furthermore, as future initiatives, Tokyu Power Supply and the Company aim to start commercial operation of high-voltage grid-scale battery storage facilities, each with an output of 2MW/8MWh, in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, in May 2026, and in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, in June of the same year. Since its establishment in 2012, the Company has been engaged in the development and construction of solar power plants, primarily in Northern Kanto, valuing "harmony and cooperation with local communities" and adhering to the policy of "realizing safe and secure power plants." In recent years, we have also actively focused on the development of non-FIT (Feed-in Tariff exempt) solar power plants and grid-scale battery storage facilities. Including this project, the Company has developed and brought into operation 30 grid-scale battery storage facilities nationwide, with a cumulative storage capacity exceeding 240MWh. For the further spread of renewable energy, the introduction of grid-scale battery storage as a "balancing power" to support the stable operation of the power grid is considered an extremely important issue. The Company is promoting the development and construction of grid-scale battery storage facilities not only in Northern Kanto but also across the country, with a future goal of achieving 250 locations and a total output of 500MW. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to the further popularization of renewable energy and the realization of a decarbonized society.
