Our company endorses April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to announce dreams. This press release is the dream of "Suguru Laboratory."
Finally, we were able to reach the patent application stage.
Towards the realization of our company's dream, "Suguru Laboratory," we can finally say:
・ Companies with technology for recycling and processing waste plastics
・ Companies that produce recycled fiber yarns that do not pollute the ocean
We would like to ask for your 'development collaboration.'
What it is, is still a secret
A big challenge for those new to finger knitting
Our purpose is to provide ideas and production processes for 'sellable items' to everyone working hard and feeling a sense of purpose at employment support facilities (commonly known as welfare workshops) nationwide, so that they can earn income commensurate with their efforts.
To embody inclusivity, we strive to ask for 'Fuku' (welfare) plus collaboration with industry, government, and academia. We assist welfare workshops in requesting adoption as 'Furusato Nozei (hometown tax donation) return gifts' from the local governments where they are located. Furthermore, regarding 'antibacterial measures for everyday concerns' for items whose production processes we provide, we are requesting cooperation from Act Nonpareil Co., Ltd., a venture company originating from Osaka University.
First, shortly after our establishment on February 9, 2024, we announced the first item that could be produced manually by welfare workshops, associating 2 (fu) and 9 (ku) with 'Fuku' (welfare).
It is the 'Hand-knitted Flower Cup Scrubber.'
And, in the April Dream of 2024, the same year as the announcement of the 'Hand-knitted Flower Cup Scrubber,' we announced our company's dream: 'We want to share the joy of co-creation with everyone at welfare workshops with the world!'
Thanks to this, in 2024,
We have reached the verge of adoption as a Furusato Nozei return gift in the local governments where our cooperating welfare workshops are located.
However, as the number of welfare workshops joining us in new challenges and the number of members attending these workshops increased,
we began to feel that providing only production processes was not enough to enable 'many' welfare workshops and their members across Japan to earn income.
Currently in progress to ensure stable production
The boom in knitting as an easy-to-enjoy hobby has also arrived.
It has become an era where many people recognize it, and our new members are very happy about it.
It's very grateful and very joyful! And it makes me personally excited, but
If we wish to be useful to 'many' workshops and their members across Japan,
Our company, and our purpose, cannot be limited to establishing it as a field/category for individuals alone.
We began to think that it cannot end in a future where it is only for individuals.
Precisely because there is a boom, we must carefully consider the future.
As a personal gift, a gift for my mother
As a 'means to earn profit through production'
Amidst the rapid pace of the times and the continuous emergence of knitting creators worldwide, what I realized in my anxious daily life was not 'protecting the ideas' for items that workshops and their members could produce, but rather, 'we must protect the items themselves, so they can be produced with peace of mind without worrying about price drops.'
And the conclusion we reached for that was the development of daily life items that can also utilize knitting, and their patent application.
Dreamcatcher-style bath scrubber. Item ideas are endless.
I read books, researched online, but still got lost and confused. I visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Intellectual Property Center, which has been very helpful since before our establishment, providing various materials, many, many times,
and asked various questions about development and patents. I received (very grateful) feedback that I was focusing on small details, and was able to re-recognize how shallow our understanding was.
From knowing nothing and understanding nothing, I started aiming for a patent application, and my wandering perspective gradually became focused.
We must try it ourselves once, otherwise we won't see anything. First, we must be able to get into the ring. We want people to appreciate our spirit of challenging ourselves from scratch, knowing nothing.
We have come this far with such feelings, but
Prioritizing that the welfare workshops actually producing the patented items do not face difficulties in their practical work, we want to firmly ask professionals for the materials necessary for future actual product manufacturing.
Therefore, first and foremost, we will strive to meet with companies that can agree with our dream and appreciate our spirit,
companies that can collaborate with us to develop the materials for the patented item.
By April 1st next year, we will strive to overcome the patent examination and acquire the patent, publicly release the actual product, and furthermore,
'We are pursuing the dream beyond that dream from that time!' We will continue to move forward so that we can announce this.
