A revolutionary entrance exam information media
The YouTube channel 'Comprehensive Selection Salon for Parents OYA.BASE' has launched. Led by Study Coorde's representative, Yuhi Nakagawa, and STRIX's representative, Junya Fukuzawa, it will disseminate information on university entrance exams, focusing on comprehensive selection, for parents of junior high and high school students.
Furthermore, a free X (formerly Twitter) community exclusively for parents is also operated. Any parent who wants to gather information about comprehensive selection or share their concerns is welcome to join.
As instructors in cram schools daily, we have heard many voices from parents who are more anxious than their children about comprehensive selection, an 'exam with no right answer.' 'I don't know how to support them,' 'What is a parent's role?' We launched this project with the desire to create a place that will guide fathers and mothers who are continuing this lonely battle.
Why we created this media
Currently, Japanese university entrance exams are at a major turning point. While the scope of comprehensive selection (formerly AO admissions) is expanding, there are many opaque aspects regarding its preparation and evaluation criteria, raising concerns that disparities in information and experience could directly lead to disparities in children's options.
For parents' generation, it is a 'unknown territory' where their own exam experiences are no longer applicable. We are launching this YouTube channel and X community not just to convey passing techniques, but to provide an opportunity to consider the 'essential way of education' – how parents and children should face each other and communicate. Through this media, we aim to create a society where all parents can confidently support their children's challenges.
Features and Overview of This Project
This channel is not just a media to be watched. It will be operated as an interconnected 'community-based media'.
① In-depth discussions by experts: Comprehensive selection professionals will invite guests to thoroughly explain admission trends, evaluation essentials, and more.
② Parallel operation of an online salon exclusively for parents: Utilizing the X (Twitter) community, we provide a free space for parents with similar concerns to exchange information and consult in real-time.
③ Construction of interactive content: We will incorporate a participatory style where experts answer concerns raised by parents within the videos.
