Led by industry experts, the platform aims to be an unprecedented resource, providing information, fostering a community for parents to share concerns, and offering guidance in an exam system where their own past experiences may not apply. An Unprecedented Entrance Exam Information Medium

The YouTube channel 'OYA.BASE: A Salon for Parents to Learn About Comprehensive Selection-Based Admissions' has been launched. Led by Yujin Nagawa, representative of Study Co-de, and Junya Fukuzawa, representative of STRIX, this channel will disseminate information about university entrance exams, with a focus on comprehensive selection-based admissions, specifically for parents of middle and high school students.

Furthermore, we are operating a free X (formerly Twitter) community exclusively for parents. Any parent who wants to gather information about comprehensive selection-based admissions or wishes to share their concerns is welcome to join.

As active cram school instructors, we have frequently heard from parents who feel even more anxious than their children about the comprehensive selection-based admissions, an "entrance exam with no correct answer." They wonder, "How can I best support my child?" and "What is my role as a parent?" We wanted to create a guiding space for these fathers and mothers who are fighting a lonely battle. This desire led us to launch this project.

Why We Are Creating This Medium

Currently, university entrance exams in Japan are undergoing a major transformation. While the quota for comprehensive selection-based admissions (formerly AO入試) is expanding, its preparation methods and evaluation criteria remain largely opaque. There is a concern that disparities in information and experience could directly lead to disparities in the choices available to children.

For the parent generation, in particular, this is an "unknown territory" where their own past exam experiences are no longer applicable. We are launching this YouTube channel and X community not merely to convey test-taking techniques, but to provide an opportunity to reflect on "the fundamental nature of education," including how parents and children should approach and communicate with each other. Through this medium, we aim to create a society where every parent can confidently support their child's endeavors.

Features and Overview of This Project

This channel is not just a one-way medium for viewing. It is operated as a "community-based medium" for mutual connection.

① In-depth Discussions by Experts: Professionals in comprehensive selection-based admissions will invite guests to thoroughly explain admission trends, the essence of evaluation, and more.

② Exclusive Online Salon for Parents: Utilizing an X (Twitter) community, we provide a free space for parents with similar concerns to exchange information and consult with each other in real time.

③ Interactive Content Creation: We will also incorporate a participatory style where experts answer questions and concerns submitted by parents in our videos.
