Hotel InterContinental Tokyo Bay (Location: 1-16-2 Kaigan, Minato-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Hiroyuki Miyata) has announced that it will host a series of parent-child experience events on select dates in preparation for the summer vacation. Designed as programs where parents and children can learn while having fun, the hotel will offer a 'Parent-Child Table Manners Class', a 'Parent-Child Cooking Class', and a 'Little Pastry Chef Experience'.

These programs include the 'Little Pastry Chef Experience' where participants learn to make a hotel-quality shortcake, and cooking experiences where guests challenge themselves to make cheese and Italian desserts while interacting with the chef.

In the Parent-Child Table Manners Class, Akihiro Shoji, the restaurant manager and sommelier of the hotel's main dining French restaurant 'La Provence', will supervise and lecture on authentic table manners from the basics. Participants will learn in a relaxed atmosphere with quizzes covering the history of table manners and the proper use of knives and forks. This program is perfect for a child's first etiquette experience, while also offering adults a chance to refresh their knowledge. The class allows guests to learn manners while enjoying a meal, and is open to children in the 3rd grade of elementary school and older, accompanied by their guardians. The participation fee is 16,000 yen per pair.

The Parent-Child Cooking Class invites participants to try their hand at making mozzarella cheese and Italian dolce under the supervision of Yohei Abe, chef of Italian Dining Zillion. In collaboration with 'Fresh Cheese Studio', which promotes the appeal of freshly made domestic dairy products, professionals will lecture on making mozzarella cheese. Participants will also finish an authentic tiramisu while watching the chef's techniques up close. Afterwards, families can enjoy an Italian course meal incorporating the cheese and dessert made by the children. As a souvenir, guests will receive a special burrata from 'Fresh Cheese Studio' to enjoy at home with memories of the event. The target audience is elementary school students and older, and the fee is 16,000 yen per pair.

The Little Pastry Chef Experience features a lecture by Executive Chef Patissier Shoya Nagai on making an authentic, hotel-quality shortcake. Participants will learn basics such as how to whip cream and properly apply frosting (nappage), and then experience the process of decorating the cake beautifully with strawberries, berries, and colored meringue. As a finishing touch, an icing cookie with the child's name will be presented. After the cooking experience, families will enjoy the shortcake created by the child.

All children participating in these parent-child experience events will receive a certificate of completion. Furthermore, the cooking class and pastry chef experience include an original hotel apron and a chef's hat, along with a detailed recipe book. Families are encouraged to enjoy these hotel experience events to create summer memories or complete independent research projects for school.
