The latest projected path of Typhoon Bavi has shifted slightly northward, with the heaviest rainfall expected from the evening of August 10 to the daytime of August 11. The Facebook page 'Taiwan Typhoon Forum | Weather Express' warned on social media that the daytime of the 11th will be when Bavi is closest to Taiwan, marking the most intense period of wind and rain across the island. The typhoon's wind zone is expected to exit Taiwan's landmass by late night on the 11th.
According to 'Taiwan Typhoon Forum | Weather Express,' at 8 p.m. on the 10th, Bavi was located approximately 480 kilometers east of Taitung. Its movement speed has increased over the past six hours, and the typhoon's wind zone is about to enter the offshore areas of northern and eastern Taiwan. The outer circulation of the typhoon has already begun affecting the region. Wind strength across Taiwan will gradually intensify after nightfall, accompanied by intermittent rainfall. The typhoon is expected to make landfall in Taiwan in about five hours, progressively covering the skies over northern Taiwan.
When will wind and rain peak?
'Taiwan Typhoon Forum | Weather Express' emphasized that due to Bavi's slightly northern track, the daytime of the 11th will be the closest approach to Taiwan and the peak period of wind and rain intensity. Northern Taiwan will experience particularly severe weather, and the public is urged to remain highly alert and cautious of potential disasters.
The forum noted that a stable high-pressure system to the north is guiding Bavi, causing the typhoon to move rapidly. If no significant changes occur, the wind zone will exit Taiwan's landmass by late night on the 11th, and the impact will gradually subside.
