Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to announce dreams. This press release is the dream of "Stollen Specialty Shop Raran".
The dream of Stollen Specialty Shop Raran is to "spread a culture in Japan where Stollen can be enjoyed all year round."
Our dream is to make Stollen an "everyday confection"
Currently, in Japan, Stollen is known as a seasonal confection limited to Christmas.
Stollen is a fermented pastry born in Germany.
It originated from a culture of sharing and enjoying it by slicing off a little at a time during the period leading up to Christmas. Its appearance is also said to represent the cloth that wrapped the newborn Christ in the Bible, making it a confection that symbolizes a special, quietly approaching time.
At Raran, we want to deliver the richness of "waiting" and "sharing"
not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.
Stollen, whose flavor deepens little by little as seasonal blessings accumulate.
Whether it's time shared with someone or a moment just for yourself,
we want it to be a presence that gently embraces both.
That is Raran's Stollen.
Raran incorporates seasonal ingredients such as strawberries, lemons, and matcha,
proposing Stollen that can be enjoyed every month for 12 months.
"We want Stollen to be chosen as naturally as pizza or cake."
With this desire, we continue to propose a new food culture that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

"Seasonal Stollen delivery" every month
It's okay to be a presence that simply gets more delicious without doing anything.
"We want to deliver a moment of peace and relaxation to those who spend their days working hard."
"It's okay not to try hard. It's okay not to be able to do anything. You can move forward from here."
These are Raran's thoughts for people who live their lives diligently every day.
Raran's Stollen is baked without eggs or water, coated with butter and sugar, and can be stored at room temperature for about 2 months.
Its flavor changes over time, possessing the characteristic of "gradually becoming more delicious."
While it rests, it naturally becomes more delicious without you having to do anything.
Its appearance is almost like a message that "you have value as you are, without adding anything."
Zero work experience, a 62-year-old's challenge
Representative Noriko Sasaki turns 62 today.
Representative Noriko Sasaki turns 62 on April 1st.
At this milestone, she wants to express her journey so far as a "dream" and share it with more people.
She has never been employed by a company and there were times when she felt, "Perhaps I have no value."
It was then that she encountered Stollen.
"It gets more delicious without doing anything.
I thought, 'That's just like me.'"
Starting with attending a bread-making class, she continued baking bread for over 20 years, and in 2017, she began selling Stollen for the first time. She has baked over 4,000 Stollen loaves to date.
From there, her world expanded in unimaginable ways, including opening a store in a department store, collaborating with Japanese confectionery shops, and being adopted for hometown tax donations.
"I could never have done this alone. I got this far because I had friends."

Sweets made with Aichi ingredients and human warmth
Raran's Stollen generously uses local ingredients such as Aichi-grown wheat "Yumeakari," butter from Chuo Seinyu in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, lemons from Gamagori, and matcha from Nishio.
During busy seasons, we work with our colleagues to manufacture and package, supporting each other to deliver our products.
"The time we spend making things together is truly enjoyable."
We are getting help with packaging.
Beyond the dream
"Through Stollen, I want to be a presence that conveys the message, 'You are fine just as you are.'"
Raran will continue to be a presence that lightens someone's heart, even just a little, through Stollen.
And someday, we aim for a future where "seasonal Stollen" lines the dining tables across Japan.
We will continue to deliver sweet and gentle moments.
