"ZERO" Artwork

Idiot Pop will release their new song "ZERO," produced with Kasane Teto, on July 17, 2026 (Fri).

The track is characterized by its RAVE sound, centered around dark bass house. English lyrics on the themes of "loss" and "emptiness" resonate quietly within a world woven by a heavy bassline and inorganic synths.

The inspiration for the song came from a sense of loss born from conversations with AI.

It depicts a modern form of loneliness, using the motif of the feeling of a being you were conversing with suddenly disappearing, and the ephemerality unique to digital entities.

The result is a song that is both dark and beautiful, combining the exhilaration of club music with an emotional atmosphere.

"ZERO" is composed entirely of English lyrics, which quietly depict the sense of nothingness and the persistent feelings that remain despite it.

● Idiot Pop Profile ●

Idiot Pop spent their adolescence during the golden age of TK, when dance music revolutionized the landscape of Japanese popular songs in the 90s. Shocked by the innovative musicality and lifestyle, they continue their techno-bitch-like pursuit of "greedily chasing the sound of the future."

In 2009, they released their 1st album independently in a limited edition of 1000 copies. Despite being unknown, it sold out in just one month, generating buzz. Since then, they have consistently released works centered on "pop" while crossing genres. Their catchy and familiar sound has gained support on various platforms and has been selected for numerous official playlists on Apple Music and Spotify. In recent years, they have also produced CM music, participating in projects for many companies such as UNIQLO and KIRIN, as well as a CM featuring Nogizaka46. They have also produced and provided music for a wide range of artists and projects, including Yume Kishimoto from former Tsubaki Factory, UP UP GIRLS (2), and Ikebukuro Den-on-bu. While pop, their music signals the "next" era. An unparalleled electro-pop producer where the urban and fiction, nostalgia and future intersect.
