S.T. Corporation Partners with Miyazaki City to Tackle Odor Issues in Livestock Industry and Zoos

S.T. Corporation (hereafter, S.T.) has signed a 'Partnership Agreement' with Miyazaki City (Mayor: Tomonori Kiyoyama) in Miyazaki Prefecture on May 18, 2026, at the Miyazaki City Hall main building. The agreement aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the region through odor control and environmental improvement at facilities related to agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, as well as the municipal zoo. This agreement aims to solve odor issues in the livestock industry and zoos by leveraging S.T.'s knowledge of deodorization and Miyazaki's vast livestock fields and expertise, often referred to as the 'Livestock Kingdom.' Specifically, it will involve reducing odors in livestock barns and compost sheds in the livestock industry, odor control in animal enclosures at the zoo, and conducting demonstration experiments and information gathering on the effectiveness of related products and technologies. Comment from the Mayor of Miyazaki: 'Our city is engaged in public-private partnerships that leverage the knowledge, know-how, and resources of companies to solve various administrative challenges. With this agreement, we will work with S.T. Corporation to conduct demonstration experiments to reduce odors at poultry farms and the zoo, utilizing their technology and products. We hope that this experiment will lead to environmental improvements and increased productivity in the livestock industry, as well as creating a comfortable environment at the zoo. We intend to work closely with S.T. Corporation.' Comment from Executive Officer Yamamoto: 'Since 2007, our company has been promoting projects utilizing forest resources in Hokkaido. We want to expand the resources and technologies we have cultivated to be used for odor control in Miyazaki City's livestock industry and zoo, as well as for various other environmental improvements, and proceed with demonstration experiments to contribute to the development of Miyazaki City.' Overview of the Demonstration Experiment: Based on this agreement, demonstration experiments for environmental odor improvement will be conducted at the Miyazaki City Phoenix Zoo and a local poultry farm (Kawano Hiroshi Farm). S.T. will utilize 'Clear Forest,' a functional tree extract component with excellent air-purifying properties, extracted from the branches and leaves of Todomatsu fir trees in Hokkaido. This component, which makes effective use of tree residue that was previously disposed of as natural waste, is expected to be an effective approach to odor control. In the future, both parties will cooperate in verifying the effectiveness and gathering information on products and technologies utilizing 'Clear Forest' for odor control and air quality improvement. The partnership includes the following four items: 1. Matters concerning odor control in the livestock industry (e.g., odor reduction in barns, compost sheds). 2. Matters concerning odor control in zoos (e.g., odor reduction in enclosures). 3. Matters concerning demonstration experiments and information gathering on the effectiveness of products and technologies related to the preceding two items. 4. Other matters deemed necessary upon consultation between both parties. Through this partnership agreement, S.T. will promote business co-creation in the wellness field and work to solve social issues through odor control and the creation of comfortable environments. S.T. is promoting co-creation in the wellness field, with 'Fragrance × Wellness' as one of its growth themes. Under this theme, S.T. aims to solve social issues in the wellness domain and co-create with regions and companies. Based on this policy, S.T. has signed this partnership agreement with Miyazaki City to create new business in the wellness field, which is a new focus area. In the future, they will promote initiatives for creating comfortable environments and achieving wellness by utilizing mutual knowledge and assets.
