Connecting Japanese Spatial Designers to the World Across Industries

Our organization endorses April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day for announcing dreams. This press release is a dream of "SSOJ (Spatial Designers Support Organization of Japan)".

SSOJ (Spatial Designers Support Organization of Japan) is an organization established in 2024 to support the Japanese spatial design industry.

We aim to loosely connect diverse fields involved in spatial design, such as architecture, landscape, interior, lighting environment, product, and environmental art, and to convey the charm and value of Japanese spatial designers both domestically and internationally.

Our activities began with this aspiration.

Since its inception, SSOJ has listened to voices from the field and steadily accumulated practical initiatives. This accumulation has gradually generated empathy, and our network of members, sponsoring organizations, educational institutions, media, and design awards has naturally expanded. Blessed with a diverse board of directors, our future possibilities are further broadening.

In Japan, there are still not many mechanisms that connect spatial design across different fields.

That is why SSOJ aims to be a "loose hub" where people and ideas meet, and new value is created.

To enable designers and related businesses to engage in creation with greater peace of mind, we have established a consultation system for legal, intellectual property, tax, labor, and company establishment matters.

We are also working to create opportunities for new work and collaborations through design matching. Furthermore, we are focusing on publishing activities, disseminating the "Japanese Spatial Designers Yearbook" to the world. The next edition is scheduled for a worldwide simultaneous release on Amazon on April 15, 2026.

We hope that each individual's creation will cross borders and lead to new encounters and opportunities.

SSOJ will continue to connect with the world and open up the future of Japanese spatial design. We will cherish this vision and continue our journey.
