hummel to Hold Environmental Event with Ryo Terashima in Hiroshima on June 28, Exclusive to Collaboration T-shirt Purchasers!

Danish sports brand hummel will hold an event using collaboration apparel with B1 professional basketball player Ryo Terashima on June 28 in Hiroshima City. It is a small, paid talk show featuring Terashima, focusing on environmental discussions, basketball, and private topics. Applications for participation are now open exclusively for purchasers of the collaboration items (including future new purchasers).

An Environmental Circulation Event Starting with a Collaboration T-shirt

The collaboration apparel released last year by hummel and Ryo Terashima used a material from PIECLEX Co., Ltd., which is made from plant-derived polylactic acid, such as corn and sugarcane, and has the property of returning to the soil (biodegradability).

Products using PIECLEX are collected, returned to the soil, and composted for use in agriculture and forestry. This environmental circular infrastructure, 'P-FACTS', fully launched in 2024, and the circle of cooperation is expanding to companies, local governments, and schools. Furthermore, PIECLEX has become a hot topic as it will be used for the staff uniforms at the '2027 International Horticultural Expo (GREEN x EXPO 2027)' to be held in Yokohama from March next year.

When the collaboration was implemented, Terashima said, 'It's not just about selling clothes, but collecting them, making soil, and planting vegetables. The interesting thing about PIECLEX is this cyclical system, and that's what caught my interest. It may be a small step, but I hope we can engage in activities for the earth together with the fans.'

The long-sleeve T-shirt from the collaboration apparel has a ticket design at the end of the sleeve, and this T-shirt serves as a ticket to participate. Terashima commented, 'I am happy that an event can be held using that ticket after a year. Also, I believe it is meaningful that this event connects the circle of circulation as the next activity. I am looking forward to seeing everyone.'

About Player Ryo Terashima

A basketball player born on October 23, 1997, in Tokyo. Signed a professional contract with the Kyoto Hannaryz in December 2019 during his senior year at Tokai University.
