SPLYZA and The University of Tokyo Hospital Begin Joint Research on AI-Powered Motion Analysis Technology

(Headquarters: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative Director: Hiroyuki Doi, hereinafter "SPLYZA"), which supports "sports education and healthcare" through application development, and The University of Tokyo Hospital, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Spine Surgery (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Acting Hospital Director: Haruki Kume, hereinafter "The University of Tokyo Hospital"), signed a joint research agreement on March 17, 2026, regarding motion analysis technology utilizing "SPLYZA Motion," an AI-powered markerless 3D motion analysis app provided by SPLYZA.

【Research Background】 Currently, musculoskeletal diseases are cited as one of the primary causes of requiring long-term care in Japan. Among these, hip osteoarthritis significantly affects walking and standing movements, greatly reducing the quality of life (QOL). However, conventional clinical evaluations primarily rely on visual observation and photography from specific directions, making it difficult to easily and accurately quantify complex pelvic movements or left-right differences during walking.

This joint research aims to apply the AI analysis technology of "SPLYZA Motion," which prioritizes ease of use in clinical settings, to establish optimized multi-angle shooting protocols for patients with musculoskeletal diseases and improve measurement accuracy.
