Speee, Inc. (Representative Director: Hideki Otsuka, TSE Standard: 4499) and SOMPO Holdings, Inc. (Group CEO: Mikio Okumura, TSE Prime: 8630) have signed a basic agreement to establish a joint venture focused on digital transformation (DX) in the renovation and repair sector. The goal is to establish 'trust, transparency, and speed' as the new industry standard to reduce customer anxiety and burden during natural disasters.
1. Background: In the event of natural disasters, many homes are damaged, and finding reliable repair contractors is time-consuming. Issues such as fraudulent business practices have become social problems. Since December 2022, SOMPO Japan and Speee have collaborated on the 'Minna no Repair' service, which has proven effective in rapid recovery support.
2. Purpose: To resolve information asymmetry and contractor disputes in the renovation industry by combining Speee's contractor network with SOMPO Japan's customer base. This is part of the 'HIKESHI DNA 2030 Project' to support home restoration.
3. Overview: Speee will conduct an incorporation-type company split to transfer its 'Renovation DX Business' to the new company, followed by an investment from SOMPO Holdings.
4. Business Scope: (1) Matching platform for contractors and users, (2) Development of productivity tools for contractors, (3) Introduction of quality repair contractors to disaster victims.
5. Schedule: Basic agreement signed on March 31, 2026. Final contract expected by late May 2026. Completion by September 2026.
