Sparx Group Participates in Energy Storage Project in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture

Sparx Group Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary, Sparx Green Energy & Technology Co., Ltd. (SGET), will participate in an energy storage project in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture, in collaboration with SMFL Mirai Partners Co., Ltd. (FLMP). This is the first energy storage project in collaboration with FLMP and will be promoted under a new business structure. This project is the company's first energy storage project in the Tohoku area and is positioned as a new initiative for future business expansion. The storage facility will have a rated output of 22.7MW and a rated capacity of 70.2MWh, with commercial operation scheduled to begin in May 2028. For the Group, this will be the sixth energy storage project nationwide, following those in Sapporo (Hokkaido), Mito (Ibaraki), Hamamatsu (Shizuoka), and Minamiaso (Kumamoto). The total output of the Group's energy storage projects nationwide, including this one, will reach 252.7MW. In addition to the Group's investment, SGET will support the development, financing, and operation of the storage facility, aiming to utilize the capacity market, wholesale electricity market, and supply-demand adjustment market. By leveraging the strengths of each company, the Group aims to contribute to the stabilization of power supply and demand, the expansion of renewable energy, and the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050.
