Space Compass, Apolink, and JSAT International Inc. have formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaboratively investigate the technical and commercial viability of optical data relay services operating between Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) and Low Earth Orbit (LEO). This agreement signifies a foundational step towards a future partnership among the three entities. Under the terms of the MOU, the companies will conduct joint studies on the interoperability and interconnection of Apolink's LEO data relay network with the GEO-based optical data relay service currently being developed by Space Compass. The initiative will capitalize on each company's distinct and complementary strengths to define concepts for GEO-LEO optical inter-satellite links (ISL) and to assess their technical and business potential, with a strategic focus on eventual market deployment.
