Space BD Participates as Cooperating Organization in Ohkuma Diamond Devices' Technology Development Project for JAXA Space Strategic Fund Program

Space BD Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masatoshi Nagasaki; hereinafter "Space BD"), a company offering comprehensive services in the space industry, announces its participation as a cooperating organization in "SX-ARK" (Heat and Devices Domain), one of the technology development themes under the "Space Strategic Fund Project" publicly solicited by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

This project, led by Ohkuma Diamond Devices Inc. (Headquarters: Sapporo, Hokkaido; Representative Director: Naohisa Hoshikawa; hereinafter "Ohkuma Diamond Devices"), was selected as "Research and Development concerning breaking the thermal constraints and improving performance of small SAR using diamond semiconductors." Space BD will support the promotion of this challenge with a view towards its application in the space sector.

### About this Project

This project aims to improve the thermal design flexibility and observation performance of satellites by utilizing Ohkuma Diamond Devices' diamond semiconductor technology to address the critical thermal constraints caused by transmitting power amplifiers (PA) in small SAR satellites.

In this project, Space BD will comprehensively support the technology development through to market implementation. This includes formulating ground test specifications and managing their progress for performance verification in space environments, extracting and providing feedback on technical requirements with a view to spacecraft integration, and supporting initial customer development and market expansion by leveraging its domestic and international network of satellite and component manufacturers.
