STU48, an idol group based in the seven prefectures of Setouchi, released their 13th single "Suki Sugite Naku" on March 4 (Wednesday). They are preparing for their 9th-anniversary concerts in April at Ueno Gakuen Hall in Hiroshima (3 days, 5 performances) and in May at Kanadevia Hall in Tokyo.
Today, April 29 (Wednesday/Holiday), 4th generation trainees made a surprise appearance in the downtown area around STU48 Hiroshima Theater (Hiroshima CLUB QUATTRO). On this first day of Golden Week, they distributed tissues to promote the consecutive performances at STU48 Hiroshima Theater, the stage event at the Hiroshima Flower Festival, and the 9th-anniversary concert scheduled for May in Kanadevia Hall, Tokyo.
This tissue distribution marks the first time in about 8 years since the promotion of their 1st single "Kurayami," released in January 2018. Following the positive response from a similar activity in March, this event was realized at the initiative of 4th generation trainee Ako Sogabe.
Ako Sogabe:
"STU48 is entering its 10th year, but we still want to increase our recognition. The tissues we distributed had messages like 'Idols you can meet almost every day!' and 'Why not come one day?' with the hope that people would feel closer to our activities and know that STU48 Hiroshima Theater is located within CLUB QUATTRO. Regarding this initiative, Sogabe commented, 'I proposed this with a strong desire for more people to know about our existence and performances. Until now, we have been supported by the fans of our seniors, but from now on, we want to create new encounters with our own efforts and spread the charm of STU48 even further. Although we are still trainees, we are acting with the responsibility and determination to be a part of connecting STU48's history. To deliver what we have built up over the past six months to more people, we want to take action ourselves. We are distributing tissues to convey everyone's efforts and enthusiasm to as many people as possible.'"
Shiori Takamura:
STU48 Hiroshima Theater (Hiroshima CLUB QUATTRO) will hold a total of 14 performances from April 29 (Wednesday/Holiday) to May 6 (Wednesday/Holiday) during Golden Week.
