SPC Literacy+ to Offer Dedicated Security Education Course for SCS Evaluation System ★3 and ★4 Requirements, Starting Around August 2026

This course specializes in the security education requirements and evaluation criteria demanded by the Supply Chain Security (SCS) Evaluation System, aimed at strengthening supply chains, and will be offered starting around August 2026.

Background of Education Content Development

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is progressing with the development of the SCS Evaluation System, targeting its implementation around March 2027, with the objective of improving security standards across the entire supply chain. It is anticipated that suitability for the SCS Evaluation System may become a transaction condition between companies in the supply chain, leading many companies to accelerate their preparations.

However, the SCS Evaluation System defines requirements and evaluation criteria for each stage (★), demanding compliance with as many as 81 items for ★3 and 153 items for ★4. Among these, the evaluation criteria related to security education are as follows:

＜★4＞ 9 items: Evaluation Criteria No. 4-2-1-1, 4-2-1-2, 4-2-1-3, 4-2-1-4, 4-2-1-5, 4-2-2-1, 4-2-2-2, 4-2-2-3, 6-1-1-6

Creating new educational content and establishing an operational system that complies with these evaluation criteria poses a significant burden for information system managers in companies aiming to obtain these ratings.

In response to these challenges, Source-pod is developing the 'SCS Evaluation System Dedicated Education Course' within its information security education service 'SPC Literacy+'. Through the provision of this course, Source-pod aims to alleviate the burden on information system managers, enhance the information security literacy of companies within the supply chain, and support the implementation and operation of education necessary for obtaining the ★ ratings.

2. Reduced operational burden through annual reviews and content updates during system revisions Evaluation Criteria No. 4-2-1-5 and 4-2-2-3 require annual review (inspection) of educational content. This course will review its educational content annually based on these criteria, and also update content when the educational requirements and evaluation criteria of the SCS Evaluation System are revised, thereby reducing the review workload for customers.

3. Ability to incorporate workplace-specific risks and rules as needed As required by Evaluation Criteria No. 4-2-1-2, content that allows for the incorporation of unique educational content will be provided for cases where understanding workplace-specific security risks and adhering to rules is necessary.
