【Follow-up Report】Demonstration Experiment Commences at Sakazume Seizaijo for Niigata Prefecture's "Next-Generation Solar Cell Demonstration Support Project"

SOLABLE, in collaboration with Niigata Prefecture's Next-Generation Solar Cell Demonstration Support Project, has begun a demonstration experiment at Sakazume Seizaijo, a SOLABLE group company. This initiative follows a previous demonstration at the Niigata Prefectural Office in November 2025, aiming to validate flexible chalcogenide solar cells in snowy regions and address challenges for future full-scale implementation.

SOLABLE Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Shinichi Nishida, hereinafter "SOLABLE") is developing businesses that contribute to global warming countermeasures with the aim of realizing a "sustainable society."

This time, following its adoption for Niigata Prefecture's "FY2025 Next-Generation Solar Cell Demonstration Support Project Subsidy," and the demonstration at the Niigata Prefectural Office's connecting corridor which began in November 2025, we have commenced a demonstration experiment at Sakazume Seizaijo Co., Ltd. (a SOLABLE group company).

Overview of "FY2025 Next-Generation Solar Cell Demonstration Support Project Subsidy"

To achieve a decarbonized society by 2050, this subsidy aims to promote the introduction of renewable energy in snowy regions by subsidizing a part of the costs required for demonstration projects that contribute to solving the challenges of introducing solar power generation facilities using next-generation solar cells in snowy regions.

Overview of this Demonstration Project

(1) Purpose

Utilizing flexible chalcogenide solar cells developed by PXP Co., Ltd., which are characterized by being "thin, light, and bendable," we aim to expand the adoption of next-generation solar cells in Niigata Prefecture (a snowy region). Through test introductions to existing facilities, we will primarily carry out the following two points:

•Verification of the effectiveness of next-generation solar cells in snowy environments

•Extraction and verification of challenges for the full-scale introduction phase after the demonstration project

(2) Demonstration Site Details

Sakazume Seizaijo Co., Ltd. (SOLABLE group company)

Installation Site ① Tent building

Installation Site ② Second pre-cutting processing plant building (folded plate roof)

Installation Site ③ Quonset hut building

Content                  : Confirmation of installation methods for various shapes of tent building roofs and walls, folded plate roofs, and quonset hut roofs, as well as the effects of snow surface reflection, etc.

Period                  : Commenced on March 24, 2026

Press Briefing

Coinciding with the start of this demonstration, a press briefing was held at Sakazume Seizaijo, the installation site.

Many media organizations attended on the day, and we keenly felt the high level of interest in next-generation solar power generation projects.

Future Outlook

Toward the realization of a sustainable society, we will promote nationwide expansion based on the results of this demonstration project.
