Sogo Yokohama Store: Randoseru 2027 Orders Begin

The randoseru selection process is about to begin for children entering elementary school in the spring of 2027.

At Sogo Yokohama Store, we started accepting orders for randoseru, including 2027 models, from mid-March.

From early April, the latest models, including new 2027 designs, will be sequentially available, and approximately 150 types of randoseru can be viewed in-store. Additionally, Seibu & Sogo's official online store, "e. Department Store," offers a diverse lineup of important randoseru that will be used every day for six years.

This Year's Trends

In recent years, the average purchase price of randoseru has been on an upward trend, against the backdrop of rising prices and an increase in spending per child. At Sogo & Seibu, last year's average purchase amount was approximately 70,000 yen, an increase of about 3,000 yen from the previous year. Based on these market trends, for the 2027 models, we continue to strengthen our product lineup in the 70,000 to 80,000 yen range.

In terms of design, "simple yet personalized designs" are popular. In addition to basic features such as lightness and comfort, designs that consider the burden on a child's growing body are attracting attention. Also, the mainstream style is to express individuality through details such as colors and metal fittings, with minimal decoration. Randoseru with subtle "dull colors" that differentiate them through color, rather than the previously popular flashy embroidery or large brand logos, are gaining support.

Expanded product lineup to coincide with the first peak of "rankatsu" from Golden Week to May

As the "rankatsu" (randoseru-hunting) season continues to start earlier each year, the trend of a first peak from Golden Week to May and a second peak in July-August continues.

To meet these needs, Sogo Yokohama Store will expand its sales floor display from April 28 (Tuesday) to coincide with the first peak and hold a randoseru order fair.

At the venue, we will provide an environment where families can actually try on and compare randoseru, supporting them in choosing the optimal randoseru that fits their child's body.

Increase adhesion and raise the center of gravity

"Tenshi no Hane" (Angel's Wings) is a wing-shaped resin part built into the base of the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps stand up from the base, increasing adhesion to the shoulders and back, stabilizing the center of gravity at a higher position, and reducing the perceived weight.

At Sogo Yokohama Store, we accept trade-ins of children's shoes that are no longer used, at any time.

For each trade-in item, you will receive one "500 yen discount coupon" that can be used for every 5,000 yen (tax included) purchase in the children's clothing sales floor.

*Up to 3 items per person per visit.

Sogo & Seibu has had a permanent "Children's Shoe Trade-in Corner" in each store since September 2009.

Unused children's shoes are collected from customers and delivered to the Republic of Zambia through the international cooperation NGO JOICFP.

This activity protects children's feet from parasitic diseases and tetanus, and a total of approximately 1.246 million pairs (as of January 2026) have been collected across all stores.
