Group Homes for Persons with Disabilities are Welfare Infrastructure Supporting Secure Living

While there are diverse welfare support and employment services for people with disabilities to live securely, housing options remain limited. This is due to challenges such as difficulty living alone when daily life support is needed, anxiety about "after parents" even when living with family, and regional disparities in support systems and acceptance, which affect the ease of living depending on the residential area.

Group homes for persons with disabilities serve as a foundation for community living for individuals with disabilities who face such housing challenges and anxieties.

Group homes for persons with disabilities play a crucial role as a system that enables individuals with disabilities to achieve independent living by receiving necessary support and to continue living securely in their familiar communities.

Social Inclu Co., Ltd. is committed to solving the social issue of housing shortages for people with severe disabilities by supporting the lives of people with disabilities and promoting their independence through the operation of group homes for persons with disabilities.

What is Social Inclu Home Okayama Saidaijihama

1. Day-service support type group home for persons with disabilities Day-service support type group homes are group homes for persons with disabilities where individuals with severe disabilities or elderly individuals with disabilities who require continuous support during the day can live while receiving 24-hour, 365-day daily life support. (*1)

Since a short-term stay facility (*2) is co-located, individuals other than residents can also use it as temporary accommodation when their families go out, need rest, or in emergencies.

2. Support tailored to disability characteristics To enable even severely disabled individuals to live independently, 24-hour support tailored to their disability status will be provided.

In addition to daily life support such as bathing and excretion, meals are prepared according to the residents' needs, including nutritionally balanced menus, blended food, and porridge, and meal assistance is provided to those who require it. Health management and medication management are conducted daily, and staff accompany residents to hospital visits and shopping. During the day at the facility, leisure activities tailored to the residents are provided. We also support financial management necessary for daily life, thereby supporting the independent daily lives of our residents.

Before admission, qualified staff will conduct interviews to understand the disability status and necessary assistance in daily life, and create individual support plans tailored to each person's wishes and disability status. After admission, continuous observation and recording of daily life, progress, and changes ensure a system for promptly grasping changes in condition. Furthermore, support plans are reviewed periodically at shorter intervals than legally stipulated, allowing for flexible responses to changes in wishes and conditions, and providing optimal support.

3. Management system supporting a secure living environment Day-service support type group homes have legally stipulated operating standards, including staffing and facility equipment. To support the lives of individuals who require assistance day and night, a 24-hour monitoring and support system is required. The facility equipment adopts a barrier-free design, and it is necessary to develop a living environment tailored to the disability status.

Social Inclu Home's policy is to provide a support system that exceeds legal requirements, such as assigning two staff members per unit (*3) at night. (*4)

In addition, the building was newly constructed for the opening of the group home, featuring barrier-free toilets, bathing lifts, entrance ramps, and elevators.
