To enable secure AI agent connectivity, Snowflake customers will be able to leverage a library of verified MCP servers to safely connect Snowflake Intelligence and Cortex Code to enterprise systems, achieving centralized governance through the MCP Gateway. Furthermore, users can integrate trusted data with context from tools like email and Slack, making Snowflake a single source of truth. The acquisition extends Snowflake’s governance scope beyond data assets to include AI actions and interactions across the enterprise. Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy stated that intelligence without governance creates risk, and by incorporating Natoma’s expertise, the company can extend its layer of trust to AI-driven actions and workflows. With 96% of organizations facing challenges in scaling AI, addressing governance fragmentation and data leakage risks is critical. Natoma’s capabilities will be integrated into the Snowflake AI Data Cloud and will be available to customers soon.
