The Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan (SMRJ) (President: Tadashi Miyakawa, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) has selected and decided the companies to be supported in the 14th term of its acceleration program "FASTAR," which supports the accelerated growth of startups. This time, the selection of regional startups has been strengthened from the perspective of creating and nurturing startups that will drive the local socio-economy, with 16 out of 20 companies (80%) being from outside Tokyo.
FASTAR was established as a startup support program utilizing SMRJ's resources. For the selected companies, SMRJ experts will provide approximately one year of hands-on support for fundraising and business expansion. A pitch event called "Demo Day," where companies will present their post-support growth strategies and business plans, is scheduled to be held around February 2027.
