SmartHR Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and CEO: Masato Serizawa) has acquired all shares of Crossbit Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Kosaki Kokubo), which operates the cloud shift management service 'Rakushifu,' making it a group company.

Crossbit develops and operates 'Rakushifu,' a cloud shift management service that combines high usability, including LINE integration, with management functions that meet the complex operational requirements of large organizations. This product contributes to the DX promotion of many companies, primarily in the food and beverage, retail, and service industries with multiple locations, by providing advanced labor management solutions.

Currently, many Japanese companies are simultaneously pursuing the acceptance of diverse work styles and productivity improvement. Especially in industries where frontline workers are active, there is an increasing need for flexible shift management tailored to the actual conditions on site and integrated, precise human resources and labor management based on it.

In Japan, where the working population is declining, supporting frontline workers to accommodate diverse work styles and utilizing employee data to support human capital management are indispensable. Through this group company acquisition, SmartHR will integrate its HR and labor management platform, including the 'Attendance Management' function provided by 'SmartHR,' with 'Rakushifu's' site-driven shift management capabilities. This will seamlessly connect shifts and attendance records on a single platform, enabling end-to-end labor management and more fundamental organizational operations based on employee data.

By fusing the knowledge and technology cultivated by both companies, the group aims to achieve corporate and societal growth and the realization of 'well-working' in Japan as an integrated back-office solution.

Future Developments

SmartHR will promptly achieve seamless product integration with 'Rakushifu,' providing users with a higher value-added experience while minimizing employee burden.

As a scale-up company aiming for further rapid growth, SmartHR plans to expand its business through M&A and enhance the value of its services as the SmartHR Group. With a diversified approach beyond the scope of existing businesses, the company will expand its business portfolio as an infrastructure company supporting 'well-working' in society.

Comments on this matter

Mr. Kosaki Kokubo, CEO, Crossbit Co., Ltd.

SmartHR has been a company we have admired in various aspects, including business growth, organization building, and product philosophy, since we started our business. We have had deep respect for their uncompromising attitude towards products, sincerity towards customers, and their serious aspiration to change the field of 'work.' We are extremely pleased to be able to work together as part of the same group this time.

For the past 10 years, Crossbit has consistently addressed the challenges of frontline workers and headquarters through the 'Rakushifu' series. The service, which started to solve the problems of individual companies, business sites, and users, has now become a solution used by over 1.2 million people nationwide. However, we are still at the entrance compared to the value we want to deliver. We sincerely thank each employee who has worked with us so far, our customers who have continued to use our products believing in us, and all stakeholders including investors and financial institutions who have supported our business. Thank you very much.

Through this group integration, by seamlessly connecting shift management, attendance, payroll, labor management, and talent management, we will create a world where further reduction of operational burden is achieved, and people can spend more time in areas where they can truly add value because they are human. We will continue to strive together with unchanged aspirations for the realization of 'well-working,' where everything important to workers – work styles, salaries, and workplace relationships – becomes the best experience. We look forward to your continued support.

Mr. Masato Serizawa, CEO, SmartHR Co., Ltd.

I am truly honored to welcome Crossbit to the SmartHR Group.

For 10 years, SmartHR has strived to improve the productivity of all workers through the digitalization of HR and labor management. However, we keenly feel that we are still far from the ideal of 'true operational efficiency' that we envision.

Until now, SaaS has evolved as a 'point' solution to solve specific operational challenges. However, to achieve true automation, it is essential to have an 'integrated experience' where these solutions connect as a 'surface' and data flows seamlessly.
