New Launch: 'MEDIAID Icing Gear Cooling Vest' for Restricted Industrial Environments, Available June 5th

Nippon Sigmax Co., Ltd., the company behind the Japanese support brand 'MEDIAID,' will launch the 'MEDIAID Icing Gear Cooling Vest' on June 5, 2026. This vest is designed for use in restricted industrial environments, such as those requiring explosion-proof equipment, and provides four hours of continuous cooling. In recent years, the number of emergency transports due to heatstroke has been increasing annually. As of June 1, 2025, heatstroke prevention measures in the workplace have become mandatory under revised occupational safety and health regulations, subject to penalties. Furthermore, in March 2026, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare mandated that all workplaces implement heatstroke prevention measures based on official guidelines. Despite these efforts, the number of casualties involving four or more days of absence, including fatalities, reached a record high of 1,803 in 2025. The situation is particularly severe in manufacturing and construction, where work often occurs in high-temperature environments. A contributing factor is the existence of work environments where standard fan-cooled clothing cannot be used due to dust, chemical splashes, or the need for explosion-proof measures. Additionally, traditional ice or cooling packs have faced operational challenges due to their short cooling duration. To address these issues, we are launching the 'MEDIAID Icing Gear Cooling Vest,' which uses cooling packs that provide approximately four hours of cooling without the need for batteries.
