Sightron Japan Inc. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Akira Watanabe) will release the multi-purpose astrograph 'FRA400C Optical Tube' and 'Reducer for FRA400C' from Jiaxing Ruixing Optical Instrument's astronomical telescope brand Askar, which performs three roles: astrophotography, daily photography, and visual observation, on March 27, 2026.

Product Features

72mm Aperture, 5-element 5-group Dual ED Air-spaced Apochromat

・ The FRA400C inherits the optical system of the popular 'FRA400' while enabling focus operation via a helicoid and aperture blade operation, similar to a camera lens, making it an easy-to-use telescope even for beginners.

・ This easy-to-handle optical tube features a 72mm aperture and 400mm focal length (f/5.6 aperture ratio), employing a 5-element 5-group lens design. Its unique design, which places two ED lenses (special low-dispersion glass) in an air-spaced configuration, achieves sharp star images with highly corrected chromatic aberration, coma, and astigmatism.

・ It can be used not only for astrophotography but also for daily photography of subjects like wild birds and landscapes. By attaching an eyepiece, it also supports visual observation, making it a versatile tool for multiple purposes.

Full-Frame Sensor Compatibility and Excellent Star Images

・ The image circle supports full-frame (44mm). It ensures the peripheral illumination necessary for serious astrophotography using full-frame mirrorless cameras or cooled CMOS cameras.

・ Its flat-field design, which provides uniform star images from the center to the periphery, minimizes image processing burden and contributes to the creation of high-quality works.
