SAK University Tokyo Innovation Campus (hereinafter, SAK University), an international educational partner officially recognized by the University of Essex, welcomed over 100 new students in April 2026, marking the start of a new learning journey.
Classes, which began in April, see both on-campus and online students engaging in daily studies according to their respective learning styles. Group work is conducted in every session, fostering a "learning together" environment that transcends physical locations.
Students are also seen gathering for self-study on non-class days, and club activities have commenced.
Comments received include: "While there are no general education classes, allowing for intensive study in specialized fields, it's important to use free time to diligently study on your own without becoming too relaxed." and "The appeal lies in deepening understanding through group work while being exposed to diverse ideas."
Pathway Program Applicants Exceed 300
The university accepts applications through "Pathway-based*" and "Comprehensive" admission systems, which emphasize motivation and attitude towards learning. Among these, the Pathway-based system allows for partial exemption from the entrance examination by taking the "Information I" lecture (Pathway Program) and meeting certain conditions.
The number of applicants surpassed 300 within eight months of the university's opening. Current students who entered through the Pathway Program have commented: "Having studied the basics of mathematics and information, I can understand class content smoothly." and "Even for those from humanities backgrounds, acquiring foundational knowledge before admission allows them to approach classes with confidence."
Furthermore, considering the concentration of applicants at the beginning of the year for the 2026 entrance examination, the university is conducting entrance examinations within the current year.
Another feature is that by utilizing it in conjunction with the Pathway Program, it becomes easier to decide on a career path early.
Details will be provided at open campus events and individual information sessions.
Please feel free to apply.
