The year is 2001. Takatsu, a second-year middle school student, is living a depressing daily life. Born into a distinguished family on a remote island, his father has many issues with women, and his mother left home years ago. He was raised with care by a housekeeper, but she herself is his father's mistress. Moreover, on a small island, the residents know everything. Avoiding people's eyes, he frequented a restricted beach called 'Spirited Away Cove'. One day, he discovers a young woman collapsed in the cove. Taken to the clinic, she regains consciousness, introduces herself as Mikage Nozu, and states that she was in the year 2079. As he interacts with the 19-year-old woman, incidents occur that seem to back up Mikage's words that she came from the future...? In addition to the title story, which serves as a prequel to the masterpiece 'Doko yorimo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e', the book includes three spin-off short stories from the series!

Born in Iwate Prefecture. In 2008, she won the 17th Roman Taisho for 'Itsumademo', and debuted from Shueisha Cobalt Bunko with the retitled work 'Okujo Boys'. Representative works include 'Para Star', 'Colorful' (both Shueisha), and 'Annular Solar Eclipse' (Tokyo Sogensha). In 2025, she gained immense attention by winning the Japan Booksellers' Award for 'Cafune' (Kodansha).
