Shopify Japan, the Japanese entity of the global commerce leader Shopify, today announced its ninth product update, "Spring ’26 Edition: Everywhere."
This announcement covers Shopify's latest products and innovations, designed to support the future of commerce, redefine the shopping experience, and help merchants' products appear everywhere.
The "Spring ’26 Edition" introduces numerous practical new AI innovations that further expand the potential for merchants, developers, and partners to build and grow their businesses. With over 150 updates, this edition enhances agentic commerce solutions, further improves the AI assistant Sidekick, and makes it easier for merchants to obtain the insights needed to improve conversions.
Centralized Management of AI Sales Channels and Insights in Shopify Admin
As the importance of AI in commerce grows, merchants need to understand how AI is driving business results.
For the first time, this update allows merchants to centrally manage "Agentic Storefronts" and related insights within the Shopify admin. They can use tools to identify areas of success and points for improvement, and manage their presence on multiple AI sales channels, all in one place.
The upgraded admin allows for the following: - View orders, sales, and conversions from multiple AI channels in one place. - Use "Search Intelligence" to display major AI search queries in the merchant's product category, identifying queries where their products rank high or not at all, and see specific improvement measures. - If a product is mentioned in an AI conversation but doesn't lead to a purchase, the AI assistant "Sidekick" will suggest specific points to fix, such as adding model numbers or specifications to the product name to increase sales.
Shopify's "Agentic Storefronts" enable merchants to manage and sell their products across AI platforms like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode, and Gemini, in addition to the Shop app.
Sidekick Feature Expansion
Sidekick is an AI assistant designed for commerce. Now more deeply integrated into the Shopify admin, it provides merchants with more personalized suggestions and speeds up the execution of tasks. - **Merchant Admin**: On the Shopify admin home, "Sidekick Pulse" displays optimized recommendation cards for each merchant. It analyzes store and user data through an offline data processing platform to help identify the best next action for each business. - **Sidekick App Extensions**: Merchants and Shopify partners can now connect external third-party apps to Sidekick. This allows them to retrieve data from apps and navigate directly to the appropriate screen within the app to perform necessary actions. At launch, it supports over 15 partner apps, including Loop, Klaviyo, Judge.me, Matrixify, Avia, and Seguno. In the future, all app developers will be able to build integrations with this app extension.
"Campaign Autopilot" for Automated Campaign Management
"Campaign Autopilot" provides small businesses with marketing capabilities on par with digital marketing agencies by integrating these functions into the Shopify admin. Merchants can run and manage paid and organic campaigns within their own set budget and rules, utilizing it as an "embedded growth partner" that requires no specialized knowledge.
Campaign Autopilot supports multiple channels from launch, enabling sales through campaigns on Meta, the Shop app, and automated email marketing. It also runs 24/7 in the background, continuously testing and adjusting campaigns to optimize results. Support for channels like Microsoft Advertising, ChatGPT Ads, and Snapchat is planned for the future.
AI Shopping Assistant "Storefront Agent"
While it can be difficult for shoppers to find answers about products and orders or get personalized recommendations, the "Storefront Agent" will now optimize the shopping experience. As an AI-powered shopping assistant for online stores, it provides logged-in shoppers with the answers and information they need. The agent understands each store's entire product catalog, various policies, and brand voice, helping shoppers find the right products and complete their purchases with confidence. Merchants can enable the feature directly from the admin without needing to install a separate app.
"Shopify Analytics" Data Analysis Function
To help merchants turn insights into concrete actions, a series of updates have been made to "Shopify Analytics," including: - Merchants can use their own custom data as an analysis dimension in Shopify Analytics (and within ShopifyQL queries) to filter and perform detailed classifications of reports based on attributes already saved for products, orders, and customers. - Using ShopifyQL from the automation tool "Shopify Flow," merchants can query sales, traffic, and inventory data and execute subsequent actions based on the results. This expands data access within the Shopify admin, enabling targeted, pinpoint changes and operations across all of Shopify.
"Quick Sale" Feature Expands to More Regions Shopify helps merchants start selling quickly.
