Shoeisha Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 5 Funamachi, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Kaoru Usui) will make all pages of 16 related books published by the company available for free from Thursday, April 2, 2026, to Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in conjunction with "World Autism Awareness Day and Developmental Disability Awareness Week" designated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Shoeisha's 16 Related Titles to Be Fully Available for Free During "Developmental Disability Awareness Week"
April 2 is "World Autism Awareness Day," and April 2 to April 8 is "Developmental Disability Awareness Week." In conjunction with Developmental Disability Awareness Week, Shoeisha aims to provide an opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities, those around them, and everyone in society to deepen their understanding and reflect on developmental disabilities by offering related books for free for a limited time.
This year marks the 8th time Shoeisha has offered free access to its developmental disability-related books during Developmental Disability Awareness Week, an initiative that began in 2019. This time, in addition to last year's 13 titles, three new titles are included: "A Little Something to Make Things Work: A Book for Parents with Developmental Disabilities to Successfully Raise Children [Ages 0-3]," "A Little Something to Make Things Work: A Book for People with Developmental Disabilities to Successfully Manage Their Health," and "Prescriptions for Play to Nurture the Senses of Children with Developmental Concerns," bringing the total to 16 titles available for free.
Furthermore, during the same period, Shoeisha will hold special campaigns for its developmental disability-related books on its online store SEshop and Amazon.
