Shochiku Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Takahashi) is launching a new upcycled product line as part of its 'Special Masterpiece' project. Starting June 3, 2026, these items will be available at the Shochiku Kabuki-ya Honpo Kobikicho Hiroba store and the Shochiku online store. This project aims to provide new value by upcycling costumes and props actually used on the Kabuki stage. For this fifth installment, in cooperation with Shochiku Costume Co., Ltd. and Sotansha Sadaemon Shoten, we have prepared three types of trays. These special trays carefully encapsulate the costumes worn by Kabuki actors. The featured costume is from 'Fujimusume' in the play 'Otsue Dojoji.' The fabric is 'chirimen' (silk crepe), characterized by its fine surface texture called 'shibo.' The product lineup includes a small coaster (1,980 yen), an oval dish (3,410 yen), and a mini tray (4,510 yen). Made of unsaturated polyester resin, they are heat-resistant up to 110°C. Please note that due to the nature of the stage-worn costumes, there may be fading or bleeding, and as each item is one-of-a-kind, pattern selection is not possible.
